I have had this for a while. there are no marks of any kind on it. I think it is a newer piece but couldn't quite figure out where the costume is from.

Is she painted beige? It looks like white porcelain showing through on the bottom photo?

No she is not painted. that is the color of the clay. Not smooth either.

She's a very modern Quan Yin if that is who she is.

Yes she is a modern lady now. I think A J is sleeping. she said she thought she had the virus. Boy I hope not.

@916Bulldogs123, Mikey, I do see VERY faint writing where I've marked up your image....you might be able to see better in person.....but keep in mind it IS faint....the top one seems to start with an 'S' something and the bottom looks like a 'Cay..something....s'all I got!

I think you see the unevenness of the bottom. there is also material residue stuck on the bottom also. and tool marks. But unfortunately no markings.

I'm wondering about @Any Jewelry as she hasn't chimed in on this. I hope she is ok.

    Covid is being nasty.:rage:

Given her costume, she is from Thailand or one of its neighbours. She doesn't have the usual Guanyin atributes or clothing, besides Guanyin is Chinese, and Japanese (as Kwannon).
Probably a local SE Asian Goddess that has been 'smuggled' into Buddhism, with that bindi-like dot on her forehead. Could you take a pic so we can see more of her costume?

    Off to bed now.
