These lovely pains in my bum, have been taken off of a old fruit knife my father had had.
After thourough searching I have only been able to identify that it was made in sheffield, it is silver, and made in the 1800's sometime..

ANY help finding out who made it would be appreciated..

    Crown for Sheffield.

    C for 1870.

    Lion Passant for sterling silver.

Couldn't find anything for the maker's mark.

The maker's mark, "JM," on this fruit knife may be the unidentified "JM" on the following page. It says that mark was seen on a "Fruit knife."

    3rd mark down under "JM."

This may be the 1848 fruit knife referred to in the above.

Here are other similar fruit knives in a posting on a pocket knife forum. It is called the "Silver Fruit Knives A Golden Age."

I am more inclined to read that date letter as the C for 1846.
