Hi everybody, i just joined the boards to ask for help in identifying this chair and ottoman & to help determine its value. My wife and i have had this for many years but i have never been able to find an exact duplicate online. I can find no identifying marks anywhere. Closest one i have found was a biedermeier on 1stdibs. If anyone has any information i would greatly appreciate it.

    Edited: pics below

    Thanks,
    Aaron

    The hardware looks newer.
I'm going to guess second half of 20th century, but I really don't know.

Wait for some of the furniture people to check in. May be tomorrow. Be sure to come back and look in.

I agree, i thought it may be as new as 1930's.

    Hi,
Those strapping supports on the bottom usually showed up in the late 1960s.

I probably would have said a turn of the century patent recliner but those springs don't lie. I suppose it is possible that these are replacements but upholsterers generally would not have access to them or use them. I do think pre-WWII. Those hinges on the back are likely not original.
