Unique wood bowl / platter?

    Hey all,
    This wood dish was my mom’s. It is signed Robert G. Woods 1979. Very nice grain pattern and some spalting, I think? Perhaps it’s a bowl for nuts? Anyone know any info about the signature? Thank you.

    I read it and over, maybe the current artist is the son of the current Woods. Thank you for the reply.
