Unknown Artist

Hi All,

I bought this piece a while ago. At first glance I thought it was Hitler and passed it up because I would never want anything to do with him!! But the more I looked it was not hitler and just an older man. I started to appreciate it as a very well done piece and bought it. Anyone have an idea of who the artist is? The signature looks like just initials... no clues on the back of the frame.

 

Never thought I’d leave the board speechless on this one! Hopefully I wasn’t wrong and this is a controversial subject. Don’t want to offend anyone

 

Not a lot to go on there. I see a man sitting before a typewriter but others may see something else. The signature A is beautifully wrought so someone with artistic ability but that clunky use of shadow, is rather amateurish. It may just be one of those hang and enjoy works.
