Featured Unknown as to what this is and from where ???

    Here we have a wooden bowl / dish, whatever. I believe it is made out of mahogany
    and is carved as a fish, hollowed out to be able to hold something, the eyes and the side markings are silver. It is about 18" long, 4 1/2 " wide.
    I would like to find from where it might have come from, and possibly the age.
    I would think maybe south pacific, because of the mahogany and silver, but really have no idea.
    Any info appreciated,

    looks like an ironwood pacific island..( Solomon ? ) carving.....not much age.

    I agree with komo, Solomon Islands or nearby in the SW Pacific. Not very old, just very nice, a graceful shape.
