    Hi,

I recently bought a small lot at auction, and among them were some military badges.
Could anyone tell me what they are or their value?

I know one is Pakistani Air Force, but I do not know it's value. As for the others I do not know what they are nor their value. I'd be grateful if anyone can tell me.

    Thanks for the replies!

There are words on the banner at the bottom of the badge with the Statue of Liberty ... can you read them?

Sure they aren't just pleats intentional or not?

I *think* I see letters and maybe a 2 ... Hopefully JD1588 can use a magnifier and let us all know.

Miss Liberty looks like a fob of some sort - the attachment "loop" at the top looks like it was intended for a ribbon of some sort. The American flag is apparently flanked by two other flags. Union Jack & Idunno?????

Curious - has the Statue of Liberty ever been featured on a military item?

The other one is meant to be the French Tricolor, would be my guess. The little guy says Air Defense Cadet Corps, if I'm reading it right. They look to be from the British Empire somewhere.

I've had it under a magnifier, and it appears to just be part of the pleat/ribbon design, sorry quirky girl :/

And it is certainly something I'd be looking to sell in the future, but I'd like to do a little research on it first.

A friend suggested it might be something to do with the Treaty of Versailles, with the 'Big Three' - America, Britain and France?

Might well be; lots of American cities and groups gave out post-WWI commemorative medals to returning soldiers. It could also have been from a French or British group for the same purpose. Odds are it was for American GIs, given the subject matter.

    Bummer.
My eyes are playing tricks on me ... in the left area I've circled below, I saw a stylized "A" and maybe a "Y" ... in the second I saw what looked like a 25 (or maybe 75)

(maybe I should stop nibbling on mushrooms I find in the yard ;) )

Hey! Those aren't pleats and folds.
It is two snakes, nose to nose.

    Hi,
Looks like butterfly wings. I wonder if it was an Art Nouveau piece from WWI?

It does look of Art Nouveau style.

I'm afraid it is part of the pleat, there aren't any snakes or letters, just little vertical lines IMG_20170730_143826 (1).jpg

What does the back look like? I had some art nouveau pieces that were later said to be forms for molds for jewelry. They were stylized Egyptian heads. I suggest this because I wonder if those flags were meant to be enameled in colors because many sweetheart pieces had enameled Allied flags on them.
