    Hello all,

My mom is using her pandemic to go through boxes and boxes of antiques from her mother left to her. She's asked me to help ID them so here we go. I would be very grateful for any help with this mark, and ideas about further research on these two pieces.

Thank you. tea pot and sugar container - 2.jpeg tea pot ( sugar container ) bottom .jpeg tea pot - bottom .jpeg

Is this an old Herend mark or am I totally off-base?

That website is all about the modern pottery. The OP's is older. I'm no china expert; I just glom Herend when I find some going begging. I think the numbers on these refer to either the shape or the decoration.

Think evelyb30 is spot on again (as usual). ;) It reminds me of the old (mid 1800s) version of "Market Garden". Love that old Herend!

Thank you evelyb. It certainly looks close but the Herend mark uses the crown of St. Stephen from Hungary, which has a crooked cross on its top. The crooked cross is a point of national pride in Hungary since it was knocked in the 17th C., and I wonder if these could possibly be something else since the cross is straight on the top. The Herend marks I see all use the crooked cross:

I don't know the source of your mark chart or much of anything about Herend but this mark doesn't seem to have a bent cross.
