Unknown marking

    850F6981-724B-4442-B794-817A892C6468.jpeg Would anyone be able to help identify this marking on a Japanese Tea Set please?

    Why do you think this piece/set is Japanese? Can we see more pictures please?

    I also have a dinner set by Kutani which I believe is also Japanese

    I think you can assume the set was brand new when your Dad bought it. I don't recognize the mark on the undersides as a Japanese character, though. Not saying that means it's not made in Japan, just that it can't be found on the site we usually look to for identifying older marks and the regions in which the companies worked.

    BTW, Kutani is not a company,it's a region.

    Ok thanks for looking anyway and thanks for the heads up on the dinner set. Didn’t realise this. This is the markings with the kutani name. Will the symbols be relating to a specific factory? EB099C1A-E0DB-4C5D-BBD0-7095C6455CDB.jpeg

    The mark just says Kutani in Japanese.

    Thank you.
    As it has no factory name, does this make it worthless or should I be keeping it?
    It consists of: Teapot, Salt/Pepper, 2 Platters and 8 of each Cups, Saucers, Small Bowls, Soup Bowls, Dinner Plates, Side Plates
