I've recently come across this unusual English (supposedly) embossed silver-backed brush and would be interested to know of it's actual function.
The attached material band is supposedly original and is presumably to be looped over one's hand when using the brush. I have not seen the brush in person, so can't be specific about the hall mark.

Although I no longer collect silver items, I must admit that the brush did catch my eye as it appears (in my amateur opinion) to be not your usual run-of-the mill item.
    Apologies for the less-than-perfect pics.

Any info gratefully received and appreciated !!!

It's a clothes brush (not for hair assuming that's what you thought.)

A better view of the marks would be nice, but I suspect they're Dutch.

Oh, I thought it might be for dusting mud off a "squire's" boots, but clothes brush was an alternative thought.....good thought @Bakersgma !!!!

Dutch it is, then, and probably used on clothes.

There was a 17th C artist named David Teniers (actually there was an Elder and a Younger) from Belgium, very well known for his genre (everyday life) scenes and much imitated, copied and reproduced in all sorts of media. This has the look of a Teniers scene.
