anyone have an idea what the interesting looking white box is in this upcoming lot, looks hand carved to me, but not quite sure what it is

Chas-Your art.com example says Reserve $1500 (!?). It's more intricate and Islamic though so who knows.

 

It is a resin box with Celtic designs. Very nice.
(Can't believe I have to tell Brits what Celtic designs look like.)

And the beasties are probably from the Book of Kells, Lindisfarne Gospels or one of the other ones.

Aj is spot on. Carved resin Celtic.

 

That little pyrographed box and the bitty wood inlaid snuff now... I like those. They're not worth a pile, but I like them.
