    I got a vase was passed down from my grandpa to my grandma and finally me and the writing is 110 overall I have no clue if the vase is made out, if hand paint, year or anything about the vase.

    Unable to figure out the first character.

    The 2nd character is possibly 右, which means this is the vase that should be placed on the right hand side.

    I think the last 2 characters are the date '11'

    For what it's worth, Google Translate reads the characters as:

    It's indeed more likely that the 2nd charcter is 100, and 111 could then be a production or model number.
    And maybe the 1st character is actually 右/right

    Welcome @Ml1984,

    Your vase is Japanese, in a style known as "Satsuma". It was a type made for export to the U.S. and other western countries, where it was popular. Vases were often made in matching pairs to be displayed on the mantle, with their designs painted in mirror images. This is why they are often marked as "right" and "left".

    Your vase probably dates to the early part of the 20th century.
