very old pearls? anyone help identifying?

    1st u have to rub them on your teeth to see if they are real...
    next....i'm not used to quality pearls having metal spacers...
    3td...that lobster claw....it's not that old.....

    Thank you just trying to find out why my grandmother kept them she did not keep costume jewelry around. They have been around as long as I can remember! Something is significant about them I wish I had of asked her why she kept them.

    Those were made some time in the last 25 years. She probably got them from someone she cared about.

    Welcome Honeydew.
    I agree, not very old and costume, but apparently important to her for sentimental reasons. The clasp is post-1980 and base metal, I suspect the spacers are too.
    Memories are more important than monetary value, and closer to the heart.

    It looks like the layer on one of the beads is flaking off. Make sure the necklace doesn't come in contact with perfume or hairspray. A general rule with jewellery, really.
