Featured Very Unusual Oil Painting

I know nothing about oil paintings, but had to buy this one. Its rather large, about 40 inches wide and has a very unusual style frame that I have never seen before. It appears to be oil paint on board. I don’t se any signature on it? I just love the subject matter of this painting. I am sure it is quite old. Any help would great.

Definitely something unique and different. I like it. It’s quite an action scene. I would also think it’s antique. I also find the itself frame interesting. It reminds me of a ‘homemade or
hobbist made tray.

 

The curved corners and crinkle finish echo Deco to me. Bit of Grimm's fairy tale horror to it. See the two people,1 seems to be screaming-running out of the house... or are they greeting the runaway party ?
PS-And is the chap flying out of the wagon run over or taking a spill ? Then again,maybe the whole thing's a bit of light childish comedy.

It has the exuberant feel of an 1870's comical trade card.

 

It's goofy, if slightly creepy.
