Featured Victorian? Six Carved Abalone 2-Hole Buttons

    These are about 5/8" diameter, approximately 1 gram each.
    I got them, I think, in Bishop California, about 1995.

    The lower left has more radial cuts, an' is slightly smaller than the others, which vary from 0.644" to 0.666". All 5 others have 9 radial cuts (a big draw for me; odd divisions of a circle). More pics on demand.

    Mostly I would like confirmation of their approximate age (late 19th C), an' of course any other of your learned comments about them will be most welcome. Thanks for lookin'!

    Nicely detailed buttons, with that fish scale effect. They look like white abalone. If so, they could be from California and made locally.
