NICE! Looks more Classical to me than victorian, wait for other to post who are more familiar with this style. It would help to see the feet. Appears to be rosewood with a silk? cover, very nice.

What do the feet look like? I am getting a Federal to Empire to Late Classical feel about this. Leaning toward the latter due to simplicity but really need to see the details better. Any way you look at it, this is a first half of the 19th century piece.

Hmmm, not exactly what i was expecting, thought they might be paw/beast feet, they could be replaced, hard to tell much with these photographs.

Yeah, i think that's right, this style was popular a long time, almost 100 years, well into the 20th century.
There is something weird about the feet, I'd say replaced/repaired at some point and not done very well.

Yes is however, it's not Empire, it's really Classical. There is a GREAT DEAL OF CONFUSION on american empire furniture, American Empire is rare, hand made & expensive & is often confused with late classical/pillar & scroll/ empire revival, take your pick of style names.
To get a better understanding of these styles you might read this.

"Look at the brain on James!" :) :)

Yeah, I'm thinking 1840s-1860s. Beautiful fabric, as has been stated.

BTW, from memory I'm thinking that a divan has no back or arms and is designed to be placed against a wall. Just...you know....FYI.

I would say not the best sofa for wine and Cheetos but it’s beautiful.

Agrees, to bad, that is considered a "structural" repair and generally speaking reduces value a lot.
Where are you? and where did you get the couch?
