    IMG_3621.JPG IMG_3622.JPG Hello,

Purchased this drawing today and was wondering if anyone could help me with the information under the signature. Looks to say A30?

    Not sure what that means...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Warm Regards,
    Jon

Unfortunately it doesn't have anything else. Possibly ABO? Maybe Army Budget Office?

I took a couple close ups so you could get some better idea of all the craziness in the piece. Kinda reminds me of a "rat-rod" art. IMG_3682.JPG IMG_3681.JPG IMG_3680.JPG IMG_3679.JPG

Maybe ARO? Airborne Reconnaissance Office? Lots of "Airborne" symbolism in the drawing?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Interesting that there is a paper with the heading DIVORCE in the drawing!

There was a classmate in college (late 60's) who used this cartoonish-grotesque style of art. I knew that his name wasn't Pugh, but seeing this made me pull out my yearbook. There were a couple "details" from larger pieces used in there, plus a picture of him standing in front of a large mural type piece in his portrait for Who's Who.

He was a history major. Wonder what happened to him.

Might be what sent him over the edge!

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

Pugh is the artist, but Swierz seems to be the subject. One wonders if he did drawings of all his unit mates.

Haha I loved it, just had to have it when I saw it! Thought how crass, real and opinionated. All good things when it comes to art in my opinion. Of course, it also requires talent and skill! :)

    Art?

As for genre it would have to be outsider or Low brow, but top shelf either way.

This piece really has a story to tell.

    Outstanding.

( BTW Rat Fink is the TwIsTeD creation of the mad genius artist, entrepreneur, Beatnik, HOT RODDER , Ed "Big Daddy" Roth.)

(One of his genuine works of art...The Beatnik Bandit. If it looks familiar one of the very first cars in the first series of Hot Wheels cars was based on it.)

When I was 16 I asked my folks for a car for my birthday.
Mom bought me a blue hot wheels car , sleek, & pointy with a bubble top just like that one.
She thought it was hilarious !! :arghh:
