If I had to guess age on this I might say 1920's-40's? Measures 68" across.

Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. Condition is not good, some of the dye has bled, holes, etc. but was just $2 at an estate sale and I couldn't pass it up if nothing else to learn about it.

Each side has a different pattern. (Sorry first pic is very back lit, makes the top look odd -- but you get the idea.) First two pics show the two sides.

I'm guessing the OP's date isn't far off. It's kind of screaming 40s at me.

Yes, I think probably Pendleton. The vintage ones I saw on Ebay were 2-sided as well. Thank you Debora.

It would make a great back drop for a certain kind of theater production or something, don't know what else you could use it for. Fringe is all but gone, etc.

Not much value, but I did see a "moth eaten one with lots of holes" according to the seller, on Ebay that sold for $60, but who knows.

Thanks to everyone who took a look!

In a cabin or other place with paneling, I'd hang it on a wall or throw it across a bed. See the old worn leather chairs in another thread. Same idea.

I did think about those chairs as I was writing that. Who knows, maybe would find a buyer in Seattle? :woot:

Evelyb, should I try washing this? If yes, any tips?

If one has a half wall somewhere, drape it there.

Wash in the gentle cycle. Air dry.

    lloyd249 it's not hoarding if it's valuable

IMO washing it will make it fall apart , consult your local dry cleaners

Dry cleaning might make the red run even more. To really be safe, hand wash with baby shampoo instead of fabric soap. Anything safe for baby hair should be safe for wool too.

    Hi,
Make sure you wash and rinse it in COLD water. Warm or hot will make the colors even run more.

I'd add some white vinegar to the wash water, to help set the red.

Thanks for all of the tips. On closer inspection, this blanket is really really worn. I don't think I'm going to wash it. I also don't think it has much resale value. Honestly my photos made it look better than it is. The fringe is all but gone, there are a few light stains, and many tiny moth holes. In fact I haven't even brought in the house. Don't want any moth larvae coming in if there is any. I think this might be too gone for Seattle even.
