6" tall, thought the "N" might indicate a maker, any thoughts? Thanks.

With modern Chinese stuff, it doesn't matter.

Thanks. Was just going to do a quick search to see whether this was a consignment piece (probably) or something to put up on Ebay. If the "N" or Chinese characters don't indicate a specific maker there is no searching it (or for that matter finding it, as a buyer) -- so, so many ginger jars out there.

    Thanks for taking a look.

中国景德镇, The first 2 characters are for China. Believe it all means Made in China. This looks like the marks under the "Zhongguo Jingdezhen Made In China section" dating no earlier then 1980. Info on the section:

"This "China Jingdezhen" mark of good quality and with the factory numbers or letters no longer used, is currently in use on export porcelain today. I would prefer to date these marks as just "modern" and unlikely to be much older than the 1980s. The first mark listed here is from a mug dated to 1983 which confirms the timeframe as the last quarter of the 20th century."

Scroll a good 3/4ths of the way down the following page to the "Zhongguo Jingdezhen Made In China section (Left to Right)" and specifically look at #581, the last mark in this section. Note it has the =N= mark.

Thanks, Susan. That's helpful. And 80's would seem about right.
