Hope springs eternal! I am hoping that this is a Vintage Cloisonné and Jade Necklace, but it could well be a New Cloisonné and Glass Reproduction. I can't tell, so I am asking for your opinions, please. It is 24 inches long. I don't know bead sizes, but the green beads are smaller than the Cloisonné ones. The clasp has the word SILVER on one side and a simple etched design on the other. The clasp is broken but it has a hook that fits into the center part. The green beads have different amounts of black in them and the matrix is different in each, but this could be just a good reproduction. As always, any comments welcomed and appreciated.

I bought similar necklaces sometime in the '90s or early 2000s. I think the clasp was either the same or very similar.

    Aventurine, maybe. I don't think it's jade.

Dyed aventurine for sure. My guess is it's from the 1980s or 1990s.

Thank you. I was told jade, but I think they were guessing.

Thank you. Evelyn. I didn't pay much for it, so I am not disappointed.

Kiko, I can't tell if your beads are cloisonne or hand-painted? The beads I had, with the similar clasp, were hand-painted to look like cloisonne. They were made in China, but before they started mass-producing huge quantities of beads and were pretty nicely made.

Kiko, it is lovely. They have been making these necklaces for quite some time now, it is an ongoing thing, so never repro. Just older or more recent.
Are those light couloured specks in the photo part of the stones or are they reflections of a flash? Aventurine generally has specks of mica in it.
If they are just reflections, it could be a very finely mottled spinach jade.
The clasp is Art Deco style, but still being made.

Thank you. I thought the clasp looked like an older style, now I know why. No specks. I have been fooled in the past by jade look-a-likes, and I appreciate your observation that there is a possibility that this is some kind of jade. What struck me was that the green beads were smaller than the cloisonné beads. To me this could be a sign that the material was more expensive. I bought it as a quick necklace to put on for casual use. I wear a lot of green.
