    hi folks

found these in a charity shop the other day (£1.50 for 6)

bet you can guess what i thought they were ;) (certainly most of the colours look that way)

turns out not after searching the mark on them

    ketty daalsguard denmark

    Hi Aj

yeah they are each marked ketty daalsguard denmark B + D

some of the colours are so convincing for bakelite, but think they nylon. to be honest they dont feel like bakelite, slighty more softer

Yes, they look soft, so I'd say nylon.
    Certainly do, Danish MCM design.;)

If you list them, it is Ketty Dalsgaard, a very Danish name. Gaard comes from the same Germanic root as yard. So no relation to a guard.

thanks for pointing that out, an easy mistake to make when listing something;)

i can always add faux bakelite to listing heading, to get more eyes on um:watching::watching:

They dont feel like bakelite but they are really good quality. Indeed nylon. Came in a bunch of different colors.
    Really fun to wear.
I have accumulated a stack of them over the years

I had to drop that malaprop in for my buddie Sir Charles of Cheswick. But I do love bagels w/ cream cheese, lox ,thin sliced red onions & garnished w/ capers.
PS-One of my favorite old comics was Norm Crosby-'The Master of Malaprop'.

One way to instantly rule out bakelite - the names are molded into them. That would be literally impossible with bakelite. I'm betting the weight is wrong too. That purple sure is - they didn't make bakelite that color.

Well technically purple bakelite did exist but changed color over time

I've never seen any, especially not true purple, and never anything close to lavender.

Same here; I can get pumpernickel bagels, and a local store makes good ones.
