Vintage Hall Tree/Stand - looking to identify

From Nova Scotia Canada.

I'm new to vintage furniture and am having a hard time finding the right words to describe/research this piece. What do you call the carvings? the design at the top?

Any guesses to what century and wood type? Is it a hall tree?

What are the measurements ? It "looks" like a hall tree but might be a washstand,Id guess 1870s-1880s. Great size for a smaller place .

Thanks for additional clues! It doesn't look like most of the other hall trees that I've seen and their is no place to sit so maybe it is a wash stand w/o a bowl!

It's at my friend's house, so I'll have to get measurements tomorrow.

Looks like a hall tree /stand with those hooks on it to hang ones coat and hat .. HMMMmmm .. or maybe towel ??? ... Joy.

Very interesting. I've never seen one in that configuration. I searched Hall Stand rather than Hall Tree.

Looks like it is a functional reproduction to fit today's lifestyle. Still an attractive and useful piece of furniture. Just not early 1900s.

Looks like a hybrid piece inspired by the 19th century aesthetic movement, ca. 1885. Wood is either walnut or stained to look that way. It's definitely a hall tree. They came in many different shapes. This one appears to have been wed to a commode, but of course it's really just for storage of boots, etc. Not many folks would have felt comfortable using a commode in the front hallway.

It did have this tag on it though...
