Featured Vintage lamp, thoughts on maker, plus what are these pieces for?

    Seems vintage from the design and plug. Any idea of maker? Also what would those pieces (pic #3 & #4) under the shade be for? Is it missing something? Thanks.

    I imagine the pieces you mention originally supported a diffuser or shade of some type, now missing.
    Looks 1970ish to me, as a guess.

    Plug is a replacement but cord may be original. More 50s-60s than 70s. Agree that it is missing a diffuser. Search for flying saucer desk lamp brings up several similar but none exact. Consequently, it may be a vintage knock-off of a more pedigreed lamp.

    Thanks, Brad. Kind of what I was thinking. Appreciate "flying saucer" keyword. That is bringing up a lot!
