Vintage Linens ID Help

  1. IMG_8765.jpg IMG_8767.jpg IMG_8768.jpg IMG_8769.jpg IMG_8770.jpg IMG_8771.jpg Hi;

    1) I have 4 embroidered items that I think are too small to be placemats, or dresser covers. Measure 11" x 16". Any ideas? Also, are the little openings decorative? Each is sewn slightly different.

    2) Oval shaped linen cover with 4 button holes? on each side. 10 x 6.

    3) And since I'm asking, these 2 plastic items were included in a lot of scrap material. Google images was no help. Pat. No. at top of each.

    Thank you;

    Serviette/napkin covers? My grandmother used to have embroidered linen serviette covers, to store your serviettes in between meals. One of those many useless 19th century inventions.:joyful:

    #1: I'm stumped as to the purpose of these.
    #3: I agree with komo, they are plastic buckles.
    #2: A "Bermuda bag" cover, missing the handles... very popular in the 1980s with the preppy people. One could buy a complete set (cover and handles) and then collect different covers in order to change it up and match what one was wearing. The covers buttoned onto the handles. Some covers were self-lined, some sets included a separate liner, and some handles had a permanently attached liner.

    Just to clarify... they are not mine. I'm simply offering info to the OP. The photos I used were "borrowed" from the internet. That said, I do have some Bermuda bags and covers around my place somewhere. :)
