Can anyone tell me what this is made out of and what the purpose of the white round item on the back of his head is?

I picked this up at an estate sale and have no idea what it is. Your input would be much appreciated!

Hi! He's pretty old but that may be the exit for a pull-string to make him do something.

Can you possibly see into there?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

That is either Mickey or a "faux Mickey". I agree about the pull-string... probably made him talk. Wonder how he got so PALE!

Maybe the air hole for a "squeeker?"

Thanks for the info, I can't see in at all the hole is very tiny but that would make sense.

AH! Not enough tea for me as yet....
I assumed ceramic for some reason. :p

I believe the half round opening, which didn't fit my fuzzy theory when I wrote it, makes squeaker correct.

Yes he is made out of a hard material but it is very light. I think it might be ceramic like kingofthings mentioned.

Rubber that old will get very hard so DON'T squeeze it!
May have been made by Hubley.

Does he have any maker indication, molded on a foot maybe?

Unfortunately not :( there are no markings whatsoever anywhere on him. He is quite the mystery.

I'm somewhat more familiar with their vehicles but I think it would be depressed into a foot bottom.

    WOW! Indeed!
I wonder if they had numerous, or changed, manufacturers.
They probably did to be sure there was always stock for if a plant had a problem...
