Sorry for the poor quality photos.....it's behind glass, and I had trouble with reflections....
Bottom reads: Main Street Bridge, signed John Lynch 1967 (I think).
When searching DSCN2512.JPG DSCN2514.JPG DSCN2515.JPG John Lynch, there are so many hits, and I can't find a photographer match.
Any ideas on which bridge this is? As there are many of those too..:wacky:
    Thanks for your time.

Are you sure that says 1967? It sort of looks like 1907 to me.
Not sure they had fire boats in 1907 though.
    Sorry - just musing aloud.

    Hi Messi,
No I'm not sure if that's a zero, or six??
And you absolutely taught me something. I didn't know about fire boats. I was thinking those were some type of upward spout fountains:confused::D Whoops !
    Thank you

LOL, I looked at a gazillion photos too. It was only because of your first reply that said fire boats, that I was able to find it, so THANK YOU!
I googled image searched, something like....
"vintage photo main street bridge fire boats"
and a picture of a different view of the bridge was not too far down the page.
Thanks again messi, I never would have found it without your help.
Now, if I could just figure out who John Lynch is...

Messi, thank you I saw that, and think you're right. Maybe it is a son. Funny thing I found, that tall building in the background used to be called the Lynch building, but named after a different Lynch....:wacky:

Johnny, that's neat! You're a Florida cracker too! I live very close to Jacksonville, only a little over an hour away.

Thanks moreotherstuff, that's good to know, and what a pretty picture!

You can see the bridge in the background just to the right of center. Lynch must have had a pretty good telephoto lens.

Ah! Now it makes sense (although I think fire boats sound more romantic somehow. :)).

I, too, have a thing for fireboats. I have seen them doing displays, but the story of the John J. Harvey, really caught my heart. :)

My son-in-law is from Jacksonville! My grandson's first outfit was a baby gator suit, of course.

My eldest daughter's Dad was born and raised in Jacksonville,Fl. and he had a heavy Southern drawl when he spoke..He had me learn this sentance and then I had to say it fast:p

" Stewed tomatoes on light brown toast the kind ya have to eat fast enuff before it falls through the crust".

You used to hear drawls a lot more in my youth, but probably 70% of people I meet now are from elsewhere,so you don't hear it much anymore. It was a good town, but like so many other places we have a real crime problem now.

I met john in 1965 so it WAS a different era....funny he was named John Quincy Adams and one of his brothers was named Thomas A Adams. When I gave John's name to the nurse for my daughter's birth cert. she kind of gave me a double look. :p
