I would say it's an extension for a torque wrench to get into a specialized place, possibly on some kind of vehicle. The square end will fit the torque wrench.

Just your picture or is the closed end horribly 'rounded off'?

Snap on have a life time warranty on their tools. My OH has had a few replaced by them so if it’s damaged find a snap on dealer and ask them to replace it!.

Or just sell it to a "car guy" into old Nashes, or an old car guy into old tools. There are plenty of both.
