vintage us military jacket

I found another military jacket. It caught my eye because of the tarnish on the buttons. Can you help me identify it?

Something about the fabric seems odd to me and I’m not finding that particular division.

 

Yeah, the fabric is unusual, with a visible diagonal stitch all throughout it. Underneath the collar, there's a felt/wool strip. Buttons are from Waterbury Co. Connecticut

 

They have made them forever and still.

 

I couldn't find a tag or anything. Only the writing on the lining. Nothing in the pockets.

The fabric is called twill.

Now I just need to figure out if this jacket is from WWII or WWI. (I assume WWII.) The sleeves are too long for me because I have T-Rex arms, so I won't remove the patch.

Lmao! Unfortunately, it's true. Even the jackets that fit perfectly rarely end above my wrist bones.

And I believe that's what they call these uniforms: Twills. Different fabrics for specific occasions.
