I wonder, though, Komo. The date incorporated into the print is 1-75 (Jan 1975 I think) but the Vi Gunderman you found was married to Mr. Grant in 1950. Why would it not include her married name 25 years after the marriage?

maybe the two were friends ...long time friends...?

your comment is of course valid.......so i'm guessing at why.

And of course, who owned it doesn't really matter to Lori's questions about the artist. ;)

Oh. You mean if she and the artist were friends?

It does seem that INH has confirmed Debora's link in post 2 is the same Walter S Taylor. Signature and style are the same.

It’s very interesting, he designed the wine labels, with his artwork.

I'm just curious when there were trees like that in front of the White House. I don't remember them...

Well, the date on the sketch is Jan 1975. And the angle of view is from the side.

The Andrew Jackson Magnolia tree was planted on the South Lawn of the White House almost 200 years. The time has come for it to be taken down. CNN

Komo, those are on the other side of the White House - the side with the rounded portico. (I had heard about the poor magnolias...:()

I worked for Walter S Taylor. Billy Hill winery in Hammondsport, ny. Right in the finger lakes..on Keuka lake. An amazing man, artist and a dear friend who we lost to early.
