Featured Wardle pottery majolica planter

I stumbled across this today and couldn't resist. Mark looks like Wardle, which seems to ring true. It's 19cm tall.

When I was searching for images of it, there were a fair few Bretby results.

Yes indeed. Not really their style though is it. Guess it was created by one of the other potters.

 

I’ve a Bretby planter which is very similar.

 

I wonder if there was a common potter in both potteries?

 

I think it’s like anything else, companies followed trends. You’ve only to look at how many companies made almost identical glass in the sixties.
