I have tried reverse search, etc and cannot come up with anything like this It looks like an oleograph or early print on canvas Is this anyone in particular? Do you recognize the artist? I think this dates to the early 20th century Any help with this is very much appreciated

    Thank

I think chromolithograph (chromo for short). Looking online, the names may be interchangeable, but some say an oleograph has an added layer of varnish applied to simulate brushwork.

Aha! ok Any guesses on who the artist is? Anyone?? Thank you

After looking at a lot of Atkinson's works, I see his ladies has short hair for the most part

    Hmmm

Does look a tad earlier than his work. Have you tried a Google Images search?

I’ve tried every which way I could think to look it up but have not found this one. It just reminds me of his work

Have you deframed? Frame and mat don't appear to be period.

Not yet, I’m always afraid to do that. Especially this piece as the one corner is torn and looks very unstable. I’ll do that next. Wish me luck!!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I think so, too. I noticed the shoes under the stand that holds her piles of clothing. Maybe they can be dated? They look like early 20th-century shoes but I'm not an expert.

I got it open without incident and then my daughter walked in the room and broke the glass Oh well, I never guarantee the glass in shipping at any rate since the couriers are so evil and manage to break a lot of them no matter how I pack

The bottom on each side says Printed in Germany and opposite No 13934 which have not been of any help

I hope everyone enjoyed their soggy long weekend!

Maxfield Parrish was my other guess. I just remembered his name.

I don't think it's by Maxfield Parrish. It doesn't have the same use of lighting that he used, for one thing.
