I need your help with this watercolor with medieval style scenes. It is signed "NORMA 49". Do you have any idea who it might be? 1.jpg 11.jpg

I doubt you're going to get very far identifying the artist of your piece, Giuseppe. A charming scene, certainly done by someone with formal art training, in what appears to be its original frame but... Not a lot to go on. If you open up the back you might find more information. Oh, and take another close look; might be watercolor and gouache.

    Thank you Debora
You're right it's watercolor and gouache.
I would like to avoid opening it but if necessary I will do it.

JMHO. don't open, leave as is. certainly nice and well done, eventually from someone that worked as book illustrator. could be from a local fairytale with the big book and the black cat. where did you find it ?

I don't think this is portraying a Medieval scene.

More recent than Medieval - Renaissance?

Could this be some illustration of Norma Lorre Goodrich?

I don't think so. The woman's clothes are more medieval.

Could be transitional, doesn't really matter. Certainly Norma was working from some one else's images and not in either period. ;)
