    Hi All,
need some help with this one. Trying to search the name (which I think is I. Price) is frustrating, I keep getting sites on how to price artwork. Any ideas on how to search the name?
The frame is 18 1/2" x 22 1/2", the painting is 10 1/2" x 14 1/2". The label on the back is for T. Stott and Co, found information that they were in business from 1911-1921. The back has tears but hasn't been taken off completely, so this must range in that time period. Hard to get good photos of this but I hate to take it out of the frame, might have too I guess.
    Any ideas appreciated.
    thanks for looking:)

I wonder what to do with the tiny cross-line in the initial? IF? FI?

thanks bakers:) yes, I was thinking IF, but it is the last name that makes it hard to search:)

Darn, that is a hard one to search --just gave it a try myself. Nothing!

Maybe someone else will have luck. Looks like a nice watercolor.

I tried searching doing the minus price help, advice etc and get results for art supplies:confused: I think sometimes Google doesn't like me

    ...just returning from google...

[NOTE TO SELF: don't buy art with the surname "price"]

It's nice for sure but why is the word "sketch" above the name? Student work? Also the only artist that had the last name I came upon googling was "Helen f price" but don't think it's her because she signed her work using her whole name and her style is a little different.

thanks rink28:) I'm not an art person so I'm not sure why the word sketch - maybe a student work, maybe a sketch that was done before the actual piece?

very often painters worked in watercolor when making sketches for later studio use when travelling around. could be a page from a sketchbook.

Looks like a travel sketch done while on the Continent.

I think the first initial might be a "T." (Look how is follows the same configuration as the "t" in "sketch.")
