I frequently run into a dealer & she's always thrilled when she finds Waterford (esp Highball Tumblers & Stemware). Seems to be a traditional luxury item that still does well on Ebay.
She's been 'hunting' for the last 60 yrs-so I focus when she grabs something !
Many other vintage goodies-Lennox,etc-not so much.Just an interesting factoid I thought worth sharing.

That is great to hear - kiss of death at our estate sales. No one seems to want it!

All you can do is check out the price points online, and bear in mind-it just seems to be the highballs and stemware.
Decanters,vases,etc-not so much. Think 'Madmen' & James Bond Barware.

Highball's always sell well for decent money. I Always buy Waterford (whatever it is) if it's cheap. Lismore Pattern always seems to sell well. Giftware not so much, but I love the stuff.
I have found it dirt cheap at Garage sales and thrift shops.
Just 2 days ago, I bought a Waterford Millenium Clock in the original packaging with all the paperwork for $10 at a garage sale. I was happy to find it.
Just a couple months ago I found 2 Waterford Double old fashioned glassea at the thrift shop for $1.99 ea. SCORE!

The giftware is all but dead in the water. Stemware is the devil to ship, and doesn't go for much on line. You can still sell it here, but only if you're selling at about 10% of original retail. I saw a whole Waterford lamp sell last week for $200, but I bet it was closer to $1000 originally. The stemware was all sitting at $10 per.

Lismore is the most popular pattern and generally easy to sell.
I never buy the Millenium or Marquis stuff, they are lower end Waterford lines.
(For example: One Lismore highball is $110 new. One Marquis "Maxwell" highball is $20 new.)
I agree that most of the "giftware" is dead in the water.

Marquis pieces of any and all sorts are dead here. Made in China. Message ends, and so do sales.

I like Waterford of any sort but it all depends on the pattern and availability. If it appeals to me, I figure I'm good (I have a good eye for barware). I recently bought 2 single old fashioned/whiskey glasses at an on line auction for $40. The seller called it as Marquis with an incorrect pattern name. I thought they were stunning. Turns out they are Carina pattern which sell on ebay for $120 each. I'm keeping them. I do not ignore Marquis pieces. Many of them sell well, just depends on the look. I always buy my brother Marquis DOFs since he breaks things.

Me too. What's the worst that can happen? You have to keep it for yourself (boo hoo) or give it as a gift.

Lenox flooded their own market by simply making too much froo froo stuff. I like Lenox overall but many of their patterns are just too frilly for me, like Butterfly Garden for instance. When I see salt and pepper shakers shaped like bunnies, then I know they've jumped the shark on that pattern. So many homes in America have Lenox china so if it looks good, it will likely be resellable. All that other stuff, not so much (vases, swan dishes, goofy items).

Not much of a premium here for Waterford. I sell other name brand stemware and bar glass sets well locally, as long as I am off ebay prices. I can afford to do so as I often pay 50 cents or less per piece.

Most of them think they're gonna make money doing this hustle, but of the ones I talk to, none really are...

That's what you have to be honest with yourself about....is the math making sense, or is this just your shopping hobby? Too many booths at the flea say "Hording Addiction" to me as well and it's sad.

I notice the colored Waterford still does well. I’ve been trying to find different calerendon colors, but they are still too pricey for me. I’ll have to stick with my Ajka crystal for now.

When it comes to glassware, I back away slowly unless it's pennies on the dollar or older than dirt.

Eh, just quick on the Lens and know to look not just sold prices, but frequency. I have a Waterford vase, biscuit barrel, and owl paperweight for my own amusement, as well as various other lead crystal brands that I like the look of for winter decor. I've only sold some Ralph Lauren highball glasses, but I keep a look out.
