I have found other waterman pens similar but not quite same. I think daisies on the side and on top.
The ones I’ve found have had suggested dates of 1900 to 1940 and prices seemed all over the place from 200-4000!! I’ve had it for about 30 years.
    Any comments appreciated :)

Oh my goodness, I can remember that starting in 6th grade we had to take tests with our answer(s) written in INK, not in pencil. Our desks were so old-fashioned that there was an "inkwell" in the upper right corner of the desktop to hold your (a student's) bottle of ink.;)

Hi, Found the below on the 18 K.P marking, which suggests it was made after 1976. Best Regards, Joe

KP Gold Mark - Introduced in 1978
    by: Anna

Hi Jenny - 18kp means the gold is guaranteed by the manufacturer to be not less than 18k. The karat mark followed by a P was introduced in the United States in 1978, so any jewelry with this mark is not antique jewelry.

    kind regards
    Anna

    "P" stand for Plumb
    by: Yvonne

The P stands for "plumb" - or exact - which means that the gold is exactly 18k with no tolerance (not under-karated). It's exactly 18K, not 17, or 19, but 18 on the nose!
This also means that the ring was made after 1976, when the U.S. National Stamping Act was amended and this
    mark was introduced.

Thank you great information...I think very close. Mine only has waterman the logo and 18krolled gold. The clip on mine is also embossed with daisies.

I think perhaps my picture of the mark is lacking. Just looked with mag
    It actually is 18K.R.

If we were really good we were allowed to fill the other students bottles from the master ink bottle. Good memories thanks

    Hey Bob.

Wutcha got here is a Waterman Ideal safety-filler fountain pen. Ca. 1910. I'd say the "18k.R" is "18kt Rolled Gold". It was very common to have rolled-gold or gold-filled fountain pens in the early 1900s. This trend continued up until about 1930.

If it works? Maybe 2-300 dollars.

Dunno what else I can tell you, unless there's specifics that you want.

The clip probably makes it about 1920 or a little later

The nib appears to be scrap

    The gold is rolled plate.

These earlier pens often get robust bidding on feebay

    This pen has no hallmark

There is no need for testing it
