What are your thoughts on this bracelet please?
Genuinely antique or trying to be?.
I think the flowers are wax, maybe bridal jewellery?. There appear to be veins running through the petals so could they be real ones soaked in wax? I’ve tried to capture it on a photo but not easy- the last photo is the clearest.
    Thanks for looking :)

It’s very delicate. I wonder if the flowers originally had more blue on them and were forget-me-nots?

That wouldn't surprise me. Somebody's girlfriend was a happy camper when her sweetheart gave it to her 100+ years ago.

Reminiscent of wax flower bridal tiaras. Never seen a bracelet though. The silver circular frame at the front reminds me of similarly wrapped detail I’ve seen on Italian cameos. I had a mop cameo bracelet that had it. I’ll see if I can find a photo of it.

Yes! I know what you mean, that slightly kinked wire.

I can’t find any to compare it to. Lots of tiaras and a few necklaces.

It might be bridal, but these were also crafts for well educated young ladies. It's charming. I'd think your forget me not theory an excellent one.

I couldn’t find one either. Maybe someone converted it to a bracelet. We can’t wear our tiaras every day! ;)

    Like this I think.
I wonder please if @Bronwen can suggest when this wire was commonly in use around cameos?

Very unique, what a cool piece! I've never seen similar.

It was never commonly in use & the cameo brooch in the photo is mid-20th century.

Such a delicate, fragile thing. A bracelet & wax flowers do not go together well; wrists have a way of swinging into things. Definitely not made for everyday wear. Wedding seems right. Maybe the bride had a whole parure.

Is the clasp one of those barrel ones that screws together? Not something you can put on by yourself if it is. Another argument for special occasion wear.

Yes I think so. I tried to gently unscrew it but it’s seized. Also to unscrew it would require twisting the entire bracelet significantly so I didn’t as I don’t want to damage it. Clasp could be a replacement though if as was suggested it was shortened from a tiara.

That's what I thought. An ill-considered choice for that use. Maybe someone just wanted to close it into a circle with no intention of opening it again. Wedding cake decoration?

it rather reminds me of a little Georgian or early Victorian brooch I owned once. Seed pearls on wire wrapping.
