Featured Weird Brass Cased Bottle - Any Ideas ???

    I've just come across this very unusual object, which measures approximately 20 cm in height. It looks like a brass-cased cobalt blue glass bottle of some sort - possibly from the Middle East (?).

    Any ideas welcome.

    BTW, is that blue item UPSIDE DOWN or RIGHT SIDE UP, as I have NO clue!!!
