I found this at Goodwill. It has a hole drilled at the end pointing up in the second photo. Both ends are cup shaped, but not really large enough to hold much liquid. 20170826_083334.jpg 20170826_083315.jpg

I think it might be upside down.

    Maybe a Chalice cup.

This one is Anglo-Indian silver from Kutch.

All right, I've woken up now, my eyes too, so I can see detail. I should have recognized it, I've seen so many, and even sold some.:banghead::banghead::banghead:
It is a Tibetan/Himalayan butter lamp (on the right), and yes, yours is upside down:

These are used in Buddhist temples and monasteries.
Are you sure yours is silver plate? That is unusual for old Tibetan objects. The genuine ones are usually silver. Nowadays they probably copy them in a silver tone base metal called 'Tibetan silver'.

Wow, I never would have guessed that's what this was in a hundred years!

I don't know if it's silver-plated, silver, or Tibetan silver. The reason I assumed it was silver-plated was because it didn't attract a magnet and sort of looked like silver. There aren't any hallmarks on it. It might be silver, but the metal on the inside of the lower half is strange, more matte like pewter than shiny.

    Tarnished.
Only the outside has been polished for many years.
You could try polishing the inside and see if it cleans up. You might find the marks there.

Too hard to see the construction of the bottom inside in the photo. But it looks cast and the soldered on Buddha plaques make it look like a factory product and not handmade by an actual Tibetan silversmith.

I wouldn't expect it to be marked. I think Tibet started marking some (not all) silver with 925 after it was overrun by tourists in the late 70s.
I have an antique bowl like the one in the picture I posted, no silver marks. None of my old Tibetan objects are marked, but they all have a high silver fineness.
