Hey ya'll new to the forums, my name is Jason and oh boy am I in need of some knowledgeable individuals as I've recently just finished settling my late grandmothers estate as well as being in the middle of some major renovations to my farmland of which I am demolishing several structures that are collapsing and crumbling and I have discovered a plethora of antique and vintage primitive farm tools, implements and relics that, embarrassingly, I am clueless about, the house and barns were constructed in the early 1800s I was told and that correlates to the newspapers used as wallpaper/plaster/insulation on the cellar walls and some of the items I've found in a sealed off attic. Looking forward to some good conversation and insights in the coming days, cheers!

Welcome. I live in the mid west. My advice to you is don't burn or throw out anything. I once was asked to see if I wanted to purchase some items of a very distant relative. They had a huge wagon loaded up to take to the ditch. All of it was of some value and some very valuable. If you know nothing about primitives check sites like ebay and etsy. I have old horse feeding boxes , hand made shelves and even hooks they made out of tree forks that were from my great-grandfather's barn. Refinished there are wonderful. To me they are priceless . I get lots of comments on them.

Yes, yes indeed! All sorts of treasure! Antique schoolbooks, toys, militaria, religious items, fashion, framed paintings.......I've posted some of the barn items on the "Antique Discussion" board and am about to post one item from the attic and see whats what.

I am envious! What a treasure hunt even if nothing of huge value.
