    Revival of some sort ?

Does it have value beyond a pretty face ?

I think probably 50s-60s. Mahogany. Seems to be nicely made. Can see how someone would like this to the tune of a couple hundred or so given the right sales venue.

In my opinion its fairly new, maybe 70's,80s,90s,but it is indeed pretty. Decorative value there for sure. That brass and marble lamp looks pretty interesting too.:)

I'll show off the lamp soon....

Well the item was in the folks home by the 80's...so doubt it was made in the 90's......but when exactly...i dunno.

    Sheraton revival with chinoiserie decoration.
Technically speaking japonaiserie or in the Japanese manner, because the people are wearing Japanese clothing, but japonaiserie is even less known than chinoiserie, so it's best to call it chinoiserie.

I think Brad has the date dead on; the way the basic piece is done, outside of decoration, screams 50s/60s. Asian influences cycle in and out of fashion in the US, and Japanese design was screaming hot in the early 60s if my read on the old books is right.

Bingo. Wellington Hall was a furniture line that was closed down in 2004. An article I found on line in a business publication suggests it went into production about 50 years earlier. If it has a Wellington Hall plate that gives you some parameters of when it could have been made.

Looks nicely made to me, you've got it in great condition and I love the artwork on it!! If it were mine.......I'd keep it!!!

You're right Fig...it looks like mine....but the front designs are not the same & missing elements...
It clearly says repro on the label & the logo isn't there.....very strange ..as if some newer company is knocking off an older design....
    Thanks....

Hi ana. I'm a little confused about why you came here (we discuss antiques, we aren't a store.) But what in which city and country are you looking for this "antique store?" Wellington area where?

Always worth a try, but Ana will have to specify Wellington. My first thought is NZ.

Me too...but I have antique stores on and around Wellington St in Verdun....

which is a damn sight easier to find than SOME antique store in Wellington NZ..;)

Yes, and antique store in Verdun is more likely, Kiwis, Brits and Ozzies would call a store a shop.
