    Hi,

I thought this would be easy with the label but striking out, hoping someone will know who made this piece. Stands 7 1/4" tall, purple inside, red clay showing through the design.

Would the design be considered sgraffito?

    Any ideas or thoughts appreciated! DSC03329.jpg DSC03330.jpg DSC03331.jpg DSC03333.jpg DSC03334.jpg

Cool piece. I would call it wax resist rather than sgraffito. It's not that the pattern was scratched into the surface, but that the surface was treated so that the glaze would not cover the lines.

Not anything with which I'm familiar. From Googling, I'd guess that the company name was Ruscha, the designer was Adele Bolz, and the decoration was called Filigran.

Ruscha used to be a pretty good seller, but I dunno about now because I haven't looked at this stuff for a while. Like all three pieces (Scheurich and the studio pot) but for me, this is the one I like best. That purple exterior is so much of the period!

    Thanks for the links!
Yes, I like the interior too! This is small so it will be easy to ship, not sure if the floor vase will go on-line as the shipping would be a killer.
