What Am I Brooch Thing

Hi All,
I'm stumped with this one, the face part is a brooch/pin but the dangly part doesn't have a pin attachment, so how would it be worn? Has some green on his face I have to clean off. Is there a name for this type of brooch?

Could the chain with the round part on the end somehow go in a button hole? Maybe jewelry that came with a shirt? (Just guessing.)

Hmmm, if it came with the bridegroom....(LOL) I'd be thinking sweater guard too, on the Canada-found one.

 

Could it be the type of tie tack that a man could wear with those skinny ties they wore years ago?

thanks for the replies ladies I don't have a sweater with buttons to try it so not sure if the chain part is long enough - it is 3 1/2".

thanks for looking cluttered I thought the post was from the other day, but time is so messed up for me, the days have all blended together. Something I think that happened yesterday in reality happened several weeks ago.

don't think that would work Pat, the face part would have to be on the tie and the little dangly part has to go in a button hole, men's button holes are on the left hand side.
