That there is a real and bonafide, genuine no-fake non-reproduction all-complete and unadulterated in any manner or action, produced-by-original-manufacturer... ...thingy.
Thingies were very popular during the Victorian era with the rise of cheap, mass-produced goods and were originally manufactured by Wussat, Hoositz & Co. A solid gold thingy with a velvet interior, and an exterior studded with jewels and silver, made as a sample-piece for Tiffany & Co went down with the Titanic in 1912. ...ok I'll shaddup now...I have no idea what that thing is...
Thank you all. I'd never guess being a third rail insulator pot. I'm trying to ID the makers logo. By the way, do people collect such thingies?
I know that people collect railway stuff, but I dunno about segments of track... Usually it's stuff like luggage carts, trunks, bags, suitcases, stickers/labels/tags, uniforms, caps, whistles, lamps, etc etc... I've never heard of anybody collecting track before.
Its not track its a ceramic insulator, many folks collect the coloured glass ones. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...ulators.TRS0&_nkw=insulators+vintage&_sacat=0
