With a penchant for odd ball items, I picked this up 2nd to last day at an estate sale. I noticed it in the bottom of a cabinet that had only a few books and I'm not sure anyone even opened the cabinet during the sale. VERY heavy, 10 lbs.

Doing a reverse google image search, this appears to be a "Tricone bit for oil, gas or waterwell digging. Makes sense, former owner worked for the petroleum industry.

It is so shiny with what appears to be chrome (??) first guess was it was some kind of memento from oil drilling, maybe chrome added after the fact for display.

    Thoughts?

    10lbs!

Sorry next shot is blurry... was holding the 10lbs in one hand, obviously didn't hold it very steady. Numbering says 4 1/4.... 1/2 950.

Guess I'm wondering if this might have some Ebay value??
