There are are doll like figurines similar to these somewhere in the forums. I remember someone had a huge collection. I tried to find the thread with search, but can't find it.
Probably because the title had no clue as to the reference or subject of the items to be discussed. Just remember that if you are ever going to look for THIS thread, you have to search for "What Is It?"..................
I know. It's frustrating. It seems like the other little people dolls had painted, round, bead like heads and felt clothing. Kingjoker's people have paper mache faces, it looks like. Also a different kind of cloth for the clothes. But the little wooden feet nailed to a board are the same. Though some I remember from the other thread stood on their own. I'll guess these two guys are Greek farmers harvesting the wheat or oats.
I just tried a search on What Is It and got the following reply: Antiques Board - Error The search could not be completed because the search keywords were too short, too long, or too common. -- Meanwhile, I can't help with this question and hope that others can.
Heehee. Took long enough, but I found it. Had to laugh. What are they and how old? Discussion in 'Antique Discussion' started by Kingjoker, Oct 5, 2016. I was wrong, those dolls have pipe cleaner feet nailed/wired to boards, not wooden feet.
They're from Russia. This is what they're wearing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovorotka And since the clothing is uni-sex (except for headgear) and they're harvesting grain, I would think Soviet era. Debra
