WHAT IS IT!!!

I have found these things metal detecting in different locations (all old farms) and have spent a lot of frustrated time trying to identify them. I have been totally unsuccessful. Does anyone have suggestions; or ideally know what they are or what they were used for? They appear to be made out of copper.

Thanks, even though I'm not sure that is related to these... My mind just clicked about something that I've found that I now know is a bull ring! I might post a photo.

They are definately nose rings used to control bulls, made of copper. Pinch your nose partition and you will know why. If you open these up you will find one side is pointed to pierce the nose. The real tough job was putting them in and putting in the locking screw. Bull not happy at that time.

 

Yep they are pointed although they are not in one piece anymore.
