Hi, there is a local auction coming up near me and I was on theit website where they post pictures of the items they are auctioning off. I'm kind of interested in this but not sure if it's a painting or carving. Unfortunately this is the only picture they had of it so I'm not sure if this picture is going to be much help to identify. If anyone might have any info that would be great thanks!
I think it is lovely, looks kind of Art Nouveau-ish, but could be later. And I agree on ceramic placque. Other than that I can't help, sorry.
Just be aware that nice, older tiles used to bring a nice price, 20 years ago. Not so much these days. If that frame is plastic I'd shy away for sure.
Although, now that I said that... there are some chipped bits that look more like wood or rust, than plastic.
Thank you all for the info. I'll definitely leave it if it's in a plastic frame I'm leaving it. I'll let you know if I get it
If you noticed, what material was the frame? At first glance it so looked like plastic, I'd like to know what it actually was for next time around.
Unfortunately I got there right before they raised it up before auctioning it off. They had it behind a case. It appeared to look like wood but could of been plastic. The back had paper around it since they framed the tile. It went for more than what I wanted to spend.
