What is this brass thing?

    Hi

    I am wondering what this brass piece is supposed to be. It’s shaped like a sunflower and has a beetle in the centre. The lid flips up. I was thinking maybe candle holder? It’s stamped “made in Belgium” on the bottom.

    Any help would be appreciated :)
