Base diameter is 4 1/2", 9 1/4" tall. Pretty heavy, weighs over 2lbs. No marks anywhere. We have no idea what it is. Thanks for looking! copper.jpg copper3.jpg copper2.jpg

Fire extinguisher? Similar but not identical:

Many extinguishers, but not all, have a brass plate with instructions and such. The round ring is clearly designed as a carrying handle, much like those on an extinguisher.
Or maybe for transport of caustic chemicals?
Milk can? (Rather small for any of those things; clearly I'm guessing...)

Milk churn / urn. I've seen some of these which can be so small as to be hand-held. I daresay it's missing its lid/cap/cover...thingy.
