What is this cup made of that makes it react to u v light

    I thought this was just a small Japanese wood lacquerware container.
    None of the other lacquer items react like this. What might it be?

    I thought it might be the reflection from the blue pillowcase, so I tried again without it.

    Some varnishes will fluoresce that color.
